While this role is primarily a sales position, there is room for growth at Aster in areas such as fine jewelry production, wholesale buying, and marketing. We are a small team, and there are many opportunities to contribute (and grow!).
Key Duties (may include, but are not limited to):
- Sales, intake and quoting of repairs, and customer service in the shop
- Processing of sales via Shopify POS
- Educating customers about our products. If needed, helping customers over the phone or in person and directing them to the proper channels
- Assisting and maintaining beautiful merchandising of product offerings
- Restocking shelves
- Maintaining a clean and tidy shop, including the sales floor and shared team areas
- Opening and closing the shop as needed
- Maintaining current knowledge of our products, brands, and artists
- Communicating effectively with the jewelry studio
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability to work weekends in our Oakland, CA store
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening and problem-solving
- Experience and comfort with POS systems and operational tasks (Shopify POS, Google Suite)
- Positive attitude: works and communicates well with others as part of a team, self-starting, detail oriented and organized.
- Professionalism: we work with treasured heirlooms high end products, which requires a level of extra care when it comes to customer trust.
